Tying Social Innovation to Timely Topics: Data for Good, Future of Work, and Racial Equity
How can we ensure social innovation remains impactful, timely, and relevant for students and other stakeholders? In this session, we will discuss how to embed data for good, the future of work, and racial equity into their curricula and programming. Participants will be divided into small groups to share best practices, challenges, and opportunities around each of these three key areas.

Noa Gafni
Executive Director of the Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation, Rutgers Business School, Rutgers University
Noa Gafni is the Executive Director of the Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation. Noa began her career as an entrepreneur, founding a social network for women in 2005. She then joined the founding digital team at Hearst Magazines as Head of Social Media. During her MBA at London Business School, Noa became deeply interested in the world of international organizations and social change. After completing her MBA, Noa joined the World Economic Forum as a Global Leadership Fellow and the Head of Communications for the Global Shapers Community. Shortly after leaving the World Economic Forum, Noa launched Impact Squared, a movement-building consultancy that worked with UNICEF, International Crisis Group and a number of leading foundations before joining forces with Dalberg. In 2018, she launched Trust Collab, a platform focused on rebuilding trust in society before joining the Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation as its Executive Director. Noa is a regular contributor to the Harvard Business Review, Huffington Post and New York Times, and a Social Innovation Fellow at the University of Cambridge.
Jaideep Vaidya
Professor in the MSIS Department & Director of the Rutgers Institute for Data Science, Learning, and Applications, Rutgers Business School, Rutgers University
Jaideep Vaidya is a Professor in the MSIS Department at Rutgers University and the Director of the Rutgers Institute for Data Science, Learning, and Applications. He received the B.E. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai, the M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Purdue University. His general area of research is in data mining, data management, security and privacy. He has published over 190 technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and has received several best paper awards from the premier conferences in data mining, databases, digital government, security, and informatics. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist, and is the Editor in Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing.
Jeana Wirtenberg

Jeana Wirtenberg is Associate Professor of Professional Practice in the Management & Global Business Department, Rutgers Business School. She leads the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative for the Business School and is Associate Director of the Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation (RICSI). Jeana is lead editor and author for The Sustainable Enterprise Fieldbook: Building New Bridges, first and second editions (Greenleaf, 2008; Routledge, 2019), and author, Building a Culture for Sustainability: People, Planet and Profits in a New Green Economy (Praeger, 2014). Previously, Jeana was HR Director for Development, Quality and Organization Effectiveness at Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), and held leadership positions in AT&T Human Resources. Jeana started her career at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, and led the Women’s Research/Social Processes team at the National Institute of Education. She received her Master’s degree and Ph.D. with honors in Psychology from U.C.L.A.
