Join us for our latest curriculum review and management workshop which will take place on Tuesday, October 21. Add this workshop on to your 2025 Symposium attendance or feel free to just attend the workshop on it's own. This workshop will provide strategies, frameworks and case studies demonstrating some of the leading practices and technology around the review and management of your graduate management programs. 

This workshop is geared toward individuals and teams planning for an upcoming curricular review, as well as those who are currently in the process of a curricular review. 

New to your role as an academic or administrative program leader? This workshop will be a great introduction to successfully managing your curricular review and innovation responsibilities. Attendees who are new to the process along with those who have already completed a review process are invited to attend this workshop which will be an interactive opportunity to learn from both from the presenters and the attendees who will be participating.

So you are about to start a curriculum review….  In this session we will introduce some of the questions you should consider before starting your curriculum review journey, along with some industry research to help you get started.
9:45 – 10:30 What Makes up a Curriculum Review:  Frameworks to Establish the Who, What, When and How – Part 1
Conducting regular and thorough curricular reviews is essential for all graduate programs. This interactive session will give participants the opportunity to explore key challenges in the review journey and, more importantly, discover practical strategies to overcome them.   The session introduces a comprehensive framework designed to support a robust and effective review. Attendees will leave equipped not only with a research-based structure to enhance efficiency, but also with a set of tools and concrete ideas to significantly accelerate the entire review process.

1:45 – 2:30 Transforming Graduate Business Curriculum with AI: Enhanced Learning Experiences for the Next Generation – Part 1
This interactive two-block workshop explores how business schools can strategically leverage AI to transform curriculum and create learning experiences that prepare next-generation business leaders. This workshop will showcase practical frameworks and real-world examples demonstrating how faculty and program administrators can shift from traditional "conveyor belt" education models to dynamic, creative "studio" learning environments powered by AI.
Participants will learn actionable strategies for evaluating curriculum, identifying gaps and overlaps, building AI literacy across the curriculum, and designing authentic assessment methods that reflect workplace realities. The workshop will provide hands-on experience with curriculum mapping, including a demonstration of AristAI's Curriculum Mapper for systematic curriculum alignment and assessment, along with collaborative activities to help attendees develop implementation plans tailored to their institutional contexts.

Presenters and Facilitators:
 
Tawnya Means, Assistant Dean for Educational Innovation at Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign  Dr. Tawnya Means is the Assistant Dean for Educational Innovation at Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She leads the development and implementation of innovative ideas, technologies, and approaches across the College's educational portfolio. With 20+ years of experience in higher education, course design, and educational consulting, Tawnya has led teaching and learning teams and taught courses in entrepreneurship, strategy, technology, and leadership in remote teams. Her research interests include online and blended learning, active learning, learning space design, technology innovation, access to digital learning resources, generative AI for education, and faculty preparation to teach.

Mark Thomas  Dr. Mark Thomas is an Associate Professor of Strategy, Management & Leadership and the former Associate Dean of Grenoble EM, France. He holds a PhD from Lancaster University, UK focusing on temporal adaptation and speed in the change process during mergers and acquisitions. He is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School and is a highly active member of the Harvard Alumnus Network. He has worked in higher education in France for the past 25 years as professor, course director, director of business school programs and director of international affairs. He has worked extensively on a variety of international projects in some 30 different countries signed more than 100 international partnerships. Notable agreements signed include the universities of Cambridge, Columbia, Duke, and McGill. He has also created and managed off-site campuses in China, the USA, the UK, and Canada as well as establishing major alliance networks for international recruitment in higher education. Mark has more than 15 years’ experience of working for national and international higher education accreditation organisations (AACSB, EFMD, CEFDG etc.). He has served on the EFMD Programme Accreditation Board for 7 years and has been accreditation peer review member and chair for more than 10 years. He is accreditation mentor for both EFMD and AACSB and is the former Chair of the Associate Deans Affinity Group at AACSB. He has audited and assisted more than 40 business schools across the world in their accreditation process. He has participated in international advisory groups for the French Ministry of Higher Education and worked for the regional council of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region. He is the former President of the International Commission for the Alliance of the 40+ Grandes Ecoles of the region (AGERA) and former treasurer for this same organization.  He has taught Corporate Strategy, Strategic Management and Leadership at PhD, Executive Education, Masters, and Undergraduate levels. He has worked extensively with senior executives particularly in the high tech, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, aviation, and non-profit industries. He has taught and consulted for companies such as STMicroelectronics, Michelin, EADS (Airbus), Lufthansa, Valeo, and SwissAir. He has also been invited to teach at the University of Cambridge, UK, the University of Maryland, USA, Tongji Business School & Beihang University, China.​
