Speakers and Panelists:
Ellen Bailey - VP of Diversity and Culture, Harvard Business Publishing
Ellen has been with Harvard Business Publishing for over nine years and has held four positions, Sr. Learning Solutions Manager, Associate Director of Learning Solutions, Director of Global Solutions, and Senior Advisor for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging. In her current role, she is responsible for creating and executing the DEI strategy, vision, and goals for the organization. Ellen helps drive employee engagement and business results by serving as a catalyst to discover, develop, and deliver the best practices and resources needed to promote a culture of inclusion and sense of belonging at HBP. She also supports HBP leaders in forming and cultivating strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations outside of HBP to further diverse and equitable talent acquisition, engagement, and retention for HBP. Prior to her current role, she was in the Corporate Learning division as a Global Solutions Director leading the West US and LATAM team, design and implementing learning and leadership development solutions for best-in-class strategic clients, enabling her team’s success, driving sales, and delivering measurable business outcomes for their large global clients. Prior to joining HBP, Ellen had 20 years of experience in Consulting, Instructional Design, and Training Facilitation, most recently with AchieveGlobal. She regularly contributes to the development and production of expert briefs, blog posts, webinars, and podcasts on the topics of D&I, multigenerational workforce, and the future workforce.
Krista Grajo, Masters Student, Community Psychology, University of New Haven
Krista Grajo is a 2nd year master's student studying Community Psychology with a concentration in Clinical-Community Services. She is a graduate research assistant for Research and Evaluation at Esperanza United, a culturally specific, Latin@-serving national center seeking to end domestic violence. Krista is committed to research, program evaluation, and community-based action to support marginalized communities, especially BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Her research interests include culturally responsive, trauma-informed care and prevention to address health disparities.
Jessica Holzer, Assistant Professor in Health Sciences, University of New Haven
Dr. Holzer is an Assistant Professor in Health Sciences. She completed her PhD in health policy and bioethics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, her MA in bioethics at Case Western Reserve University, and her BA at Wellesley College, majoring in biology and philosophy. She is broadly interested in health equity and community well-being, specifically in the areas of active transportation and maternal health. She is an expert in community-based participatory research approaches. Her most recent work on maternal morbidities in the postpartum period has received awards and recognition from the American Public Health Association. She is leading the team designing and conducting the baselie curriculum assessment for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Philip Miller, Assistant Dean Carlson MBA and MS Programs, Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota
Phil Miller is an experienced business leader, educator and coach. He currently serves as Assistant Dean for MBA & MS Programs at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. There he is responsible for leading the teams responsible for the entire student lifecycle (recruitment/admissions, student placement/life & career development/placement) for more than 1400 MBA and Master of Science students. Phil previously led the Carlson Consulting Enterprise, an innovative MBA program delivering real world experience to students by solving “real world” problems for consulting clients. He has also taught undergraduate, MBA and executive education classes on management and critical thinking, winning an undergraduate faculty of the year honor along the way. He is passionate about his students’ personal and professional development. Prior to joining the Carlson School, Phil worked at 3M where his responsibilities included managing a global business, leading an internal corporate venturing opportunity and managing 3M’s corporate Strategic Business Development group. Phil also worked for Ernst & Young’s management consulting practice where his clients ranged from Fortune 10 global businesses to start-ups across multiple industries. His experience included enterprise level strategy, process improvement and technology issues. An MBA graduate of the Carlson School of Management with concentrations in Strategy, Marketing and Operations; Phil also holds an MA in History from the University of Oklahoma and a BA in History from Rice University.
Victoria A. Parker, Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Faculty Administration/Associate Professor of Management, Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics, University of New Hampshire
Victoria (Vicky) Parker serves as Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Faculty Administration, and Associate Professor of Management at the University of New Hampshire’s Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics. She oversees all graduate business program development and operations, faculty development activities, and is the leadership champion for the college’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Trained in organizational behavior at Boston University, she taught graduate courses in healthcare management for over 15 years at Boston University’s School of Public Health, where she also directed the MPH program in healthcare management and the PhD program in health services research, before joining UNH in 2017. She completed her 5-year leadership term for the Academy of Management’s Health Care Management Division in 2018 and has also served as a commissioner for the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). In addition, she has served as a faculty member in Boston University Questrom School’s executive MBA program. Her research on healthcare management has been published in Health Care Management Review, Health Services Research, and numerous other journals.
Lucy Swedberg, Executive Editor & Senior Editorial Director, Harvard Business Publishing
Lucy Swedberg is Executive Editor and Senior Editorial Director at Harvard Business Publishing. She oversees a passionate content team that’s responsible for developing, evaluating, and curating active learning products (including cases, simulations, videos, and interactive exercises) for business classrooms around the globe. She also oversees the group’s Inspiring Minds and Faculty Lounge editorial channels, bringing teaching insights and best practices to professors and instructors worldwide. Before joining HBP, Lucy was Executive Vice President and Publisher at Wellesley Information Services (WIS), a media, research, and events company that helps IT and business professionals succeed in their careers. She has served as a Board Member for the Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA). She holds an MBA from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, a certificate in publishing and communications (CPC) from Harvard’s School of Continuing Education, and a bachelor’s degree in literature from Harvard College.
Lesley Symons, Founder - The Case for Women
Lesley founded The Case for Women after her seminal research thesis and publication on the lack of women in business school case papers. Her thesis “Where are the women leaders? Invisible selves: writing women leaders into business school case papers” (2014). She now has over 10 years of research on this topic. She advocates for increased presence of women in business school case studies, business schools and the higher education sector. Her research has been widely published across media such as HBR, Kings College London, Fortune, Financial Times, EFMD and Emerald Publishing. Her HBR article, “What the Scarcity of Women in Business Case Studies Really Looks Like”, co-authored with Herminia Ibarra, was cited in a recent White House Brief, “Expanding Opportunities for Women in Business”. She has gone on to read over 1000 business school case papers across curricula for at least 9 schools. She advises schools and businesses on how to begin auditing their school/university curricula / business company information. She has co-authored a winning case paper alongside Debapratim Purkayastha and has been a contributing author to course material for the University of East London’s MSc in Integrative Counselling and Coaching programme. Lesley is also an accredited leadership coach and teaches part-time on a variety of MBA and executive leadership programs for London Business School. She is passionate about getting more women into leadership positions and through coaching and running women’s programmes she assists women in reaching their leadership potential. Lesley is a dual national Australian and British, has a son and loves to run and cycle and watch live theatre. She has a master’s degree from INSEAD as well as a bachelor’s degree in Applied Social Science.

If you are unable to attend the in-person symposium or workshop, we can easily transfer your registration to virtual attendance. Transfer of registration to another colleague at your institution is also allowed, please email info@mbaroundtable.org for assistance. Please notify the MBA Roundtable as soon as possible to update your registration.
